Buying a car without a title

What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

I bought the car down in south carolina....where apparently a car title is not needed as long as a bid of sale is provided...i paid about 600 for the car.

When i got back to PA ive run into mutiple road blocks

The car was last titled in PA..if i could find the man that last titled it i could just have him "sell" me the the car for a nominal amount and then file for a lost title...and then he can sign it over to me...

of course..it seems he has moved..and is no longer registerd anywhere that i have found online *how can one know if somoene has passed away in such a situation?*

The history of the car is as follows: The lat titled owner gave the car to his father as he was going away to college or something simular...the father moved to South Carolina...and sold the car to his boss...his boss sold it to the man i bought the car from...

So how Can i obtain a title for a car..w/o the former owner being present.morevoer is there any SUREFIRE way to find someone like that.

South Carolina will not issue a title, even with the proper forms and signatures, for any vehicle that is not located within SC. The fact that the vehicle is not in the state (per your post), will be a problem.

There are ways it can be done... one being to get a title from another state and then transfer the ownership in your state.
