Can I fight a ticket in court for no-insurance and now I don't have a car?

What is the name of your state?What is the name of your state? california

I got a ticket for driving without insurance. Unfortunately I don't have that car anymore so, can I still lower the amout by getting some kind of insurance. But the other problem is that amount has been sent to a collection agency. What can I do? Showing proof that it was sold won't because I got the ticket way before, in other words I have to pay the ticket. I just want to find the best way so the amount will go down which is almost at 1,400

No piont in getting it after the fact. However presenting documentation to the pros that the vehicle was sold may slightly help.
