What is the name of your state? MO
Recently, a particular insurance company denied my spouses request to purchase automobile insurance because we are married and I have a suspended license due to a DWI. I have no intentions on driving this vehicle. I have a hearing in a few weeks, hopefully to clear up this matter and to find out when I might receive my license back.
I was told by someone else that he could get a "waiver" stating he would be the only driver of the vehicle and that no one else in the household could drive the car, and therefore the insurance would cover him, but no one else.
Is this true? How can he get insurance when I can't drive? Is this illegal for them to do this? Do they say no at first, and wait for you to ask for a waiver?
