car gets abducted by dishonest shop employee

I drop off my car for repairs. While there, an employee drives off with my car without permission from shop and gets into accident.

besides holding shop liable to fix damage to car, what other courses of action can I take?

I have no idea how car was driven while in the possession of this employee. As far as I know, he could have taken it drag racing.

I don't want to take back car and then later incur a problem that may have been the result of this abduction.
