Car insurance

I dont know if this question belongs here.Can someone help me please.

I had insurance in my name on my ex vehicles car but the car is registered in his name. I took the insurance off the vehicle and turn in the plates. Ex has not put insurance on the vehicle yet.(almost a year now). ----- If the car gets tickets, who is responsible for it..Yes the car is registered in my ex name
