Car Stolen (Rebuild Title)

What is the name of your state? NY

I bought the car $15000, My car was stolen from my driveway yesterday, and when i called Insurance company to make a claim, (i have full coverage with $1000 deductible) She asked me for a copy of Bill of Sales, (I don't have that) when i registered with the DMV Form 802, my friend told me wrote down $4000 to avoid paying too much tax. Insurance company also asking for this form.

What's my options now? the price i paid and told my Insurance company doesn't equal to the price i put on the form 802.

what would you do? should i get a lawyer?

I have no one to blame but myself.. sigh..

You're probably not going to get 15000 or even Kelly Blue Book value. Expect to get something below the low end of the NADA guide (www.nada.org) for retail sales (since they will give you what the car is worth, which is less than a used car dealer would sell it for.)

And this is after going through a lot of hassle arguing over the purchase price, the actual miles on the car, and your fraud.
