What is the name of your state? Washington. I was involved in a hit and run in which I was struck by a car while I was crossing the street in a crosswalk with a stop sign on the corner and a flashing red light signal. The vehicle was indentified and I have a witness also. I have some soft tissue damage and possibily some nerve damage. What type of settlement should be looking at?

Before you start spending your settlement money, don't you think it would be kind of important to locate the vehicle and driver??

think of it this way, you are alive, you are able to use a computer so that means less money.

Settlements are usually based on how much money you will lose over your lifetime, can you do the same job after the accident as before?

will you need corrective surguries, and rehabilitation, will you lose time and benefits from work. Will your quality of life suffer?

will you lose the ability to be mobile? such as now you wont be able to drive a car or take a bus?

All this and more figures into a settlement amount, so the more doctor bills and consulations and specialists you see the better chance you have to determine the amount of damage you have sustained.

No one really profits from these lawsuits except lawyers, so sometimes the best you can do is not lose any money.

You really really really have to be near death to get a milion dollars

I NEVER expected to get anything remotely close to that. Please dont get me wrong. I am VERY glad to be alive. :) I'm not sure if I can go back to the same job. I work in a "high-end Department store" in the northwest. I work in the mattress dept, lifting mattresses 8 hours a day. Good ol' manual labor job. LOL.
I am in physical therapy for tissue damage in my neck, shoulder and left knee. I couldn't drive for a while. I've had a few MRI's, X-rays, a Nerve Conduction test, and Bone Scan. Nerve test showed some damage to my nerves somewhere from my elbow to my neck. Been out of work for 1 month and 2 weeks so far. Dr. won't send me back yet. I would say "quality of life"has suffered a bit. I just dont know what to expect I guess. Thank you for your reply.
