Does anyone know if a church or other institution can avoid liability in the event of an accident if they only use an ASE certified garage vs allowing individuals to do maintenance on a volunteer basis?
We have been told that we can avoid liability if we have all maintenance and repairs done by an ASE certified shop.
My personal opinion is the only significant advantage gained is they now have someone outside the organization that can be brought into a lawsuit.
