What is the name of your state? Missouri

Failed to yield on left turn.
Scraped the on-coming car, damages to the left of head end of my car.
The Officer issued a citation and told me that it is a mandatory court appearance under Rolla city code ORD 27-89.
There was no injury of either party and only minor damages to the cars. My insurance will cover the damages.
Do I need a lawyer for the court appearance? What actions could be taken on me?

Thanks in advance!

If you're just going to plead guilty and pay the fine, you don't need a lawyer. A lawyer might be able to help you get the charge reduced so there won't be any points on your license, but it will cost you. You'd have to ask the DMV about the penalties for pleading guilty to the stated charge.
