claim paid but court does not have record

In 1997, I lost a property damage claim. It was small $600 in damage to the other drivers car. I paid it out of pocket with a money order. I just found out today the other person did not notify the court of payment(as she was required), and as far as the court is concerned I have an open claim I naver paid. The court sdaid they need the other person to call in, but it was so long ago and I dont know how to get in touch with this person, or if they would even be willing to help. Any one know whay to do?
