clerk's certificate

What is the name of your state? Nevada

I am the plaintiff in an appeal of a personal injury case. My case activity on the District Court website lists "Clerk's Certifcate Issued" then there is another entry for "Clerk's Certificate rehearing denied." What is a Clerk's Certificate and why would the defense want a rehearing? Thank You
