Cosigner liability

What is the name of your state? New York/New Jersey

What is my liability if my son gets in a car accident and I have co signed his lease? I live in New York and he lives in New Jersey. He is 23 years old.

Of course, no one can answer a hypothetical question like that. However, I will tell you that if he had a wreck and was at fault, the folks he crashed into would sue everyone they could lay their hands on.

The answer to this is a big liability policy.

(I don't sell car insurance but I sure do buy a lot!)
