my sister bought a car. she got a divorce and needed to get lower payments. the dealership refused to work out a different payment plan. so she let the car go back. the car is in both there names, but the dealership now says that because they only have her address that she has to pay the 4000.00 that was still owed after they sold it. does she have to pay any or all of it. In Texas

If you sister was given the car and the payments as part of the divorce, she is solely responsible for the debt. If the divorce decree does not state to whom the vehicle goes to and who assumes the responsibility of the payments, her ex could also be held responsible.
