| I was hit by a car that ran a red light and was ticketed, my car was totaled and my wife and I had minor back and neck sprains. The adjuster on the at-fault's insurance is low-balling me, what should I ask for as a counter. What are the steps to getting an equitable settlement? How much is loss of use etc.? I don't really want to get a lawyer because niether of us is really hurt, just bruised etc and our HMO gave us some pain mediaction that seemed to work, so I don't think a lawyer would be interested with no substantial injuries. What can I expect or should I ask for after losing my car. My insurance company is totally out of the fray and not even giving me advice - perhaps as a professional courtesy to the other company.
