During a recent election in our co-op complex, one of my competitors wrote and signed a document that was distributed to all shareholders. This information in this document about me was false and intimated that I had done something that was wrong and illegal with respect to our co-op's Bylaws. I consider this documentto be a character assasination. Can I sue this individual? If so, how long do I have to initiate the suite?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Read libel and slander under the personal injury section located at the freeadvice.com homepage.

YOur answers should be there. Don't wait to sue if by the writing, you have a possible case. See a lawyer immediately.
