Daughter was involved in an accident in which the other driver was at fault. Does anyone have any advice as how to recover diminished value i.e. a wrecked car(no matter how well repaired) being worth less? Insurance company claims there is no depreciation of the vehicle because of the wreck. Her car had only 8000 mi. at hte time of the accident.

You quesiton is a bit confusing.
For insurance purposes, it does not matter what the year, mileage and condition of the vehicle is to be considered a total loss. Brand new cars involved in accidents may be considered total losses if the cost to repair exceeds the threshold of replacement actual cash/blue book value.

I am questioning the real value of a repaired vehicle. Isn't a repaired vehicle worth less than a comparable vehicle that has not been involved in a wreck?
