diminshed value

What is the name of your state (KANSAS)?

Has anybody had dealings with Nationwide insurance? I filed a diminshed value claim. and my lawyer and myself are waiting for a answer from Nationwide. Their first offer was a joke so we had no choice but to file in the court system. Seems like they do not want to pay any amount. Hopefully the suit will get their attention.

Diminished value is hard to prove. Is this your insurance or someone else's? What kind of car, how much damage, and how much DV are you asking for?

So you have a 350 Z that was worth 30K tops, it has been repaired since the accident and you think it's only worth 22K now? Is that right?

Well at least that's a legit claim, I hate when people ask for DV after a fender bender with $2k in cosmetic damage. It's still tough to prove, but you have a lawyer and hopefully you have some documentation of the difference in value.

Diminshed value

I have had 2 reports one stating 14,000 dollars for diminshed value the other report states around 10,000 dollars. We picked a reasonable number of 8,000 dollars and the insurance company just stated fine, take us to court. They did not seem to care. Guess they want to sit and wait.

WOW! I guess I'm having a hard time believing that a 2007 Z is only worth $10,000 after the damage was repaired. Or do you mean the value went down by 10-14K? So the car has been fixed and is only worth $16,000, is that what you're saying? Where did you get those reports? Does the car have a salvage title now?

Diminshed value

Reports were made by professional inspectors. Three places, carmax 20,000 nissan dealer 18,500 and other nissan dealer 13,500. Basically they did not want a car with some minor frame damage. Could not be sold as certified car on their lot. Would have to go to wholesale auction
Value of car before accident was 30,000 dollars.
