What is the name of your state?NJ
Is there a time limitation on the period in which your attorney must distribute the proceeds of a settlement? Is he/she ethically or legally obligated to release funds in a "reasonable" amount of time? What would be considered reasonable? My case settled 5 months ago and I have not received anything in writing. :)

Sounds to me like you should have had your money. 30 -45 days would be normal.Call your attorney and verify for sure that money has changed hands,

I recently called the insurance company and the check was sent to my atty in early Sept. I started calling my atty's office in September, and I rarely I get a return call. I have received 3 return calls and always an excuse. I finally went into their office and was told that they were working on the figures for distribution. I was promised that I would have my settlement 3 times since Sept. and still, nothing. I don't know if my atty cashed the check and put in in his account or did he need my signature to cash the check? I feel like my hands are tied.
