| do I have a case?<medical> Washington State
9 years ago I was pregnant with my first son and around 6 months along in the pregnancy I experienced a pain that the Doctor wrote off as 'upi-gastric' pain. You know, glorified heartburn. So all they did was gave me over the counter medications such as Maalox and Tums. Nothing else ever came about as far as they were concerned, even after many complaints from me about their attemtpts not working. Now 9 years later, I am pregnant again, and once again having the same exact pain, except it seems worse. I went to see my doctor this time, and its a different doctor I might add, and she did tests and ultra sounds and concluded it wasnt heartburn in fact it is gallbladder disease. It is heightened by pregnancy. She was made aware of this problem I had previously before she examined me. After the diagnosis she stated that the previous doctor should have caught this problem and had my gallbladder removed after my pregnancy ended, but now because they didnt, I will have to once again wait until this pregnancy ends to have anything done with it. And I am in a great deal of pain. I am just wondering if I can hold the doctor liable for my pain and suffering now, since it is obvious they didnt do anything futher to determine my illness. Thanks and sorry so long.
