Master Card paid $400.00 claim to repair but not $150.00 Loss of use and $50.00 Administrative cost Total $200.00 They are asking my wife to pay the $200.00.They used some formula concerning the damage to calculate loss of use charge. I see no mention of the administration fee in rental contract Thank you |
Ask them to provide documentation to show they had no other cars available to rent that day. If they can't provide this (they never do) then you aren't required to pay loss of use. As f/ the $50 administrative fee, it isn't your job to pay their employees. Insurance never pays either of these.
Also, in order to collect from you they will have to file suit, and they won't even bother f/ $200. It will cost them more to sue than $200 so they won't pursue litigation. Plus they wouldn't win. They do everything they can into scaring you into believing they will sue, turn it into an atty, etc. Tell them to go pound salt and do what they have to do, you aren't paying. No collection agency can do anything either w/o a judgement against you.
