Driver gave false info

My friend was crossing on a "go" light when a car sped by and bumped him hard enough to knock him to the ground. He did not have any obvios injuries then but went to a chiropractor later for some back pain. He learned later on from his lawyer that the driver responsible for this accident cannot be contacted becuase he gave a false name and address, and wrong DL/insurance info. His lawyer gave up. It's been 2 years now and doctor's office /collection agency has been bugging him to pay for the medical sevices. What can he do? Can he ever find the driver and make him pay?

It looks like a case that will be pretty much impossible to close. There is no way of finding that person without any info. Theres really nothing that can be done

If he has Uninsured Motorist or Med Pay coverage on his auto insurance, that can pay, or his health insurance. If he has none, he will have to pay himself. People suck sometimes, it's true, but since that's not gonna change anytime soon, so it's best to make sure that YOU are covered if something like this happens.
