What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas

Hi-
My daughter's husband is an alcoholic and has his drivers license revoked. He still drives.

Will my daughter be liable for any accidents that her husband has?
(Texas is a community property state)

Will she be liable to pay the car loan on the truck if it is wrecked?

Is there any legal action she can take to protect heself??

Please advise.

Thanks
Jay

She should make certain that no vehicle that he drives is in her name.

Obviously, she must NEVER give him permission to drive any vehicle she owns.

She will only be liable if the vehicle is in her name and she gave him permission to drive her vehicle at that time. She is liable to pay the loan if she is on the loan papers. Legal action is up to her, there are many avenues.
