What is the name of your state? IL

I was involved in a 3 car accident yesterday. The person behind me rear-ended me and I consequently rear ended the person in front of me. I have several problems. One, I had no insurance at the time of the accident. Two, my drivers license was expired. According to the police station the person who hit me is liable for my car and I am liable for the car in front of me. I have to go to court next month for the tickets I received for no insurance and driving with an expired license. Do I need an attorney? I know getting insurance now will not exonerate me but will it help if I have a leniant judge?

Thanks a ton,

David
