extend settlement time

What is the name of your state? CA
my personal injury auto accident case is about to reach the two year SOL in two months.
I've seen several physicians, completed 3 therapy prescriptions, MRI's, x-rays etc. Still, my back hurts and the source of the pain, or solution, has not been determined. I've been advised not to settle yet. How can I extend my time. I am currently handling the case myself. The adjuster has just received my demand letter and is cooperating.

You can't. Within the next two months you either need to settle your case or file your lawsuit.

what is the procedure for filing a personal injury suit against the a fault parties insurance company (the case is too big for small claims)? Can I file locally though the accident was in a different county? Does the court provide free assistance with filing? Is it easy to botch it all up and be left with an expired SOL? Thanks. Mark

Since the at fault party didn't injure you, you sue the at fault party that did cause the injuries. Their insurance company will offer their defense.

Is it easy to botch up? Yes, which is why people pay attorneys.
