Failing to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk

My father was involved in an auto accident where he was cited with failing to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk. We have no idea how the victim is. I believe she is said to be ok? maybe bruised or possible injury to her leg. I have tried to reach out to her on behalf of my dad to ask if she is ok as he is a very religious man and this is making him very worried. He just simply wants to know. he does not want to talk about any charges or anything but he just wants to know. Also he has received a citation to appear in court for the ticket. Should he be prepared with anything when he goes. The sun was in his eyes and he did not see her. What can I do to help him?

He should not be trying to contact her but should be letting his insurance company handle everything.
