| Failure to yield making left turn. What is the name of your state?CA
I was pulled over and sited for failure to yield on a left turn, and the car i supposedly failed to yield for of course was the ticketing officer. I entered the intersection to make the left turn and came to a complete stoped i assesed the oncomming traffic and decided to proceed. The officer however said i failed to yield.
Well the california vechicle code CVC 21801 states: "The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left...shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn can be made with reasonable safety."
The officer should no such signs of abrupt braking toi begin, took several seconds to catch up to me because he was so far away, and in addition at no time did i pose a "hazard", and was completly done at the officers descretion in an effort to teach me a lesson how can i substantiate this? Well when i completly pleaded with the officer for a warning he stated he would not because of two reasons it was the second leading cause of accidents in california, and he saw an accident involving a women that moring who because of failing to yield cause a traffic accident.
What are my angles in fighting this?
Should i mail in a written statement? |
