fall at business

i live in MA and was involved in a fall at a business that was doing remodeling fell on a piece of flooring that was sticking up. i went to e.r. and fractured my knee (i am an amputtee) this has caused me pain how long do i have to sue this business. the lawyer i have hasn't done anything to recover my losses.
