This is expanded in response to first reply. A pedestrian was walking on a road, on the right side of the street and felt so responsible for being out there (her ride left her unexpectedly) despite the fact she was pushed to the brink of being seriously hurt (sandwiched to the side of a car), that she missed and opportunity to get a liscense plate. After she was struck, she remembered to keep to the left against oncoming traffic.
Ultimately, the pedestrian was hit by a car and passed by that same car, while on her way to a community Inn. The driver had swerved over into the left lane and stopped upon feeling the impact; the pedestrian made no noise to cause the driver to stop. The pedestrian cried and started walking towards a nearby Inn. After the man who had earlier stopped (probably thinking it was a dear at first), he later decided to pass her by. The pedestrian stopped to tell someone at the Inn (only a few minutes walk from the scene), the person in the car who hit her, didn't.
Should she make an all out effort to find the guy, or just thank her lucky stars she's in one piece. It's a miracle really. Half of her feels responsible, half of her sore and bruised in the aftermath, yet now, though a little late - half of her wants to find the man who hit her.
What is the victims role. Must they stay in the spot where they were hit? If anyone, cares to hear more I would be so grateful - looking for lessons to learn, from a legal perspective.
