Fault civil- criminal

What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania
I was recently involved in a car accident. I was written a citation and have not pled guilty or not guilty to it. By admitting quilt to the criminal accident citation will I be susceptible to someone involved in the accident bringing me to civil court? Should I fight the citation? Will paying the ticket hurt me if I was to get sued in civil court?

Having an accident is not NORMALLY a criminal violation. Therefore, what is the REAL story.

ah, yes, the real story... the citation is for a supposed illegal lane change. I still have yet to get the police report so I don't really know what the police are saying.

They are saying that your changing lanes in the manner that you did resulted in the accident. And as I suspected, it is NOT a criminal offense. It is a moving violation.

if i think thast the facts are wrong on the report, how should i go about changing them? I will have to fight the case. the police said there are no unbias witnesses. I don't think that the accident was my fault.

then your insurance will give you an attorney should you be sued in civil court for the damages. The moving violations you need to consult a local attorney. No one here can tell you HOW YOU SHOULD plea.

Why wouldn't the accident be your fault if you were changing lanes?
