Hello,
My son, who was 17 at the time, got in a small accident, which dented the fender of another car. No one was injured. A friend told me to not go through the insurance companies because it would increase our car insurance. I have received the three quotes for fender repair, a three day car rental, and a doctor's exam for the driver and the amount seems reasonable. I wanted to know what paper and what process should I go through to ensure that I am relieved of all liability in this issue?

thanks
Kim

Google "release of liability". Basically you want the person to sign a paper that once you pay the agreed amount, they will not sue or attempt to collect anything further from you, and after payment the matter will be settled.
