NCMy daughter was involved in an accident and the insurance co deemed the new 2007 Mazda 6 "totalled" anf they have offered us a lot less $$ than what we feel the car is worth-checking the Kelly Book. We are out between 4-5 thousand(which is still owed to the bank) . Are we just to accept what they are offering or are we able to fight this (without being out more $$)?? Thanks for your help.
KBB is worthless, highly inflated. Ask to get a copy of the value report used by the insurance company to determine the value - it should make things clear. If you still feel after reviewing it that you have EVIDENCE that the car is worth more, you can take your chances in small claims court. But KBB is not evidence. Multiple sales records/advertisements from your local area showing higher value would be.
