Help with lawsuit info on car accident

What is the name of your state?NY

Hi, I'm brand new here and just need an outlet and some questions answered if anyone has any info or advice. I was rear ended in a car accident 3 years ago and since then suffered a broken back, neck injury and leg injuries. I'm now at the point where we are going through arbitrations and am so nervous I don't know what to do. I suffered some brain damage due to accident and have a really hard time remembering alot of things, including details of accident etc. I've been told by my attorney they are going to dive into everything and expect answers. While she stated just simply tell them "I don't recall" if I can't remember, I don't want to seem stupid so to speak. I have been told we have an excellent case since I was rear ended and it wasn't anything to do with my vehicle or my fault. I just am so nervous that I can't sleep, eat, be with my children, etc. I feel like hiding in a corner and letting all this go. I do have a therapist, however it's not enough it seems. Any suggestions from people that have been through this would be very helpful and grateful. My second question is this: My son who was 10 at the time was also with me in the vehicle. He suffered bruises and has terrible headaches off and on from this accident. However, the attornies never included him in the case whatsoever. I thought of asking them to allow him in the arbitration since he remembers what happened and I don't. Is this a good idea, or should I just leave him out altogether, as I don't want him to worry as I am. These kids have been through and seen enough of things I never hoped they'd have to. However they've been stronger than I at most times, and I'm wondering if this would help him in some way have some closure to all of this as well.
Thanks in advance for listening and helping wherever possible.
Godbless.

One more question

state of NY

I also have another question as well. I was told to sit with my husband and put an amount that we thought would be acceptable to settle to to the arbitration with. I have no idea where to start. And no idea how you put an amount on your life as well as your body. I can no longer work due to disability. I mean I'm sure I can find something, trouble is, having an employer take a risk with me is def hard to find to give me a second chance. I'm very limited as to what I can do. I tried researching this and came up with nothing. Is there some info to help decide on this amount to start with? Or some web pages that offer some advice. The lawyer wants us to come to her with a figure and go from there. I could really use your advice.
Thanks again.
Regards,

your attorney hasn't given you a range of $$ amounts as reasonable settlement figures? maybe it's time to get another attorney.
