Hit by driver with no insurance?

State: Tennessee

Recently I was involved in a car wreck. The other driver was the fault driver and he has no insurance. My car was totaled and because the other driver has no insurance I get next to nothing for my car. Do I have any options? The driver had expired tags and no insurance and I'm wondering if I could sue him and expect to win the case and get money needed for a new vehicle? Thank you in advance!

If he was at fault, then you can file a case to receive the FMV of your vehicle. You should have an easy time winning it if his fault is clear. However, that doesn't mean you'll have an easy time collecting on the judgement.
