hit a parked car

i rear-ended a parked car in chicago, il on a sunday morning. i was the only one in my car and nobody was in the car that i hit. quite a bit of damage was done to both cars. the police filed a report and issued me a ticket for "failure to stay in my lane" for which i must now appear in court. do i need to get a lawyer to appear in court with me for this ticket or should i go it alone and plead guilty? any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated. thanks.
