If I was involved in an accident & could not find the other person to get information, waited at the accident site for a while for them to show up. I did not get any pertinent information (ie:type of car,license plate, etc.). Did not file any report thinking that it was hit & run, but person who hit me got my license plate & reported me as the hit & run. Called police once I got letter from detective & responded promptly, giving him all the details of what had happened, and now have rec'd letter from city attourney to appear in court for possible criminal charges. What can I expect & what can I do?
