Hit and run

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? North Dakota

Well, here's how it goes. I live in a half of a house, and I have neighbors that live in the other half. We have a 4 space driveway, 2 spaces for my side, 2 for their side. One night they had some friends over taking both spaces of my side, so I parked behind, with plenty of room for them to get out. They pulled straight into my car doing over 600$ of damage, and didn't leave a note or anything.

I talked to my neighbors and they told me they had some people over for beers, but told me "People were here but we don't know who they were."

I reported it as a hit and run. So the question is, should my insurance have to pay for it, and I pay the premium, or are my neighbors responsible for not telling people to leave our side of the driveway?

My response:

Gee, that was a brilliant idea. What are you going to do for an encore?

Or knock on the neighbor's door and ask them to move the gosh darned cars.

Nope, sorry. Too sensible.
