| | | hit & run Kansas.
I was at a stoplight & bumped the car in front of me, stupidly i decided to turn around & not stop, the other car did a U-turn & chased me for about 10 mins, finally losing them, i get a call & have to report to the police station & stupidly lie about the thing, we go in & talk & the officer tells me if it would've have been 4 weeks later he would've arrested me on the spot, that he has seen 15 & 16 year old that are better drivers & goes on to ask me what we are suppose to do if we hit a bush, i say i don't know & he tells me i probably shouldn't be driving if i don't know what too do. He than goes on too tell me the lady had a baby seat in the car (weather she had a kid i have no idea, also note she chased me around town with a baby ), he tells me i'm getting a ticket for reckless driving, not stopping at a scene of an accident, and a few other things. He pointed out some previouse damage on my car & said i could've cause it.
He said im most likley facing tons of tickets, no ID till 21, & possible jail time.
a family friend said we should get a lawyer, what should we do? |

| | | A lawyer is no substitute for a BRAIN, but I guess it's the best you can do under the circumstances. I hope you at LEAST have insurance. |

| | | You didn’t loose them. They got your license plate. It is irrelevant if there was a baby in the car. Looks like the officer is prepared to throw the book at you. So you should get a good lawyer and work if needed to pay him.
I hope you didn’t make any incriminating statements at the police station.
A good lawyer will probably know how to get the statement thrown out… ie as the officer threatened arrest. So did he advise you of your right to counsel?
