Hit and run BUT know the car that hit...

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Arizona

My husband was a victim of a hit and run accident in November of this
year. We have the license plate and make of the car that hit him. Another
person who saw the accident followed the car and gave us an address of
where the car parked. The eyewitness would not come forward to the
police. The Phoenix police wouldn't do anything about it because my
husband couldn't i.d. the driver of the car that hit him.
I want to know what I can do to make the driver or even the owner of the
car realize they cannot get away with this. We now have a second car
payment, our car insurance went up, lost 1 day in pay and we had to come
up with a down payment on another car. What are my options?

Thank you.

Well,

I don't have any legal advice for you, but from a practical, common sense angle...
If I were you I'd get dated pictures of the damage on the other vehicle stat! It can't hurt.

The owner of the other car is liable for this accident as well as the driver (if it wasn't the owner). You should give the information to your insurance company and let them follow up on it, they have people that do this full-time.
