I filled out a false police report, help!!!

Help!

I hit someone. We were not suppose to go through insurance. So I stupidly decided to make a false police report that I was hit in a parking lot so that my insurance company would pay for my damages. The cops did not believe me and told me they would investigate by checking the cameras at the Mall parking lot and if I was found to be lieing I would be charged. I cancelled my false insurance claim right away. Now, a detective is calling me about the fase claim, I havent spoken to him yet, but he keeps calling.

What does he want?? whats he gonna do????

Comments appreciated

You didn't need to lie to get your insurance to cover it. If you have collision on your policy you can use that regardless who is at fault. It is a crime to file a false police report and I'm sure they have some questions f/ you regarding that. What they will do is up to them. It's really hard to predict.

Obviously, any response by anyone who is NOT the detective/investigator would be pure guess. Call him and find out. Maybe he wants to sell you tickets to the Policeman's Ball.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
