I was rear-ended and both me and the other vehicle have the same insurance

Tucson, Arizona -I was hit from behind while slowing down for a vehicle turning left in front of me. My husband was driving, I was in the front passenger seat and my 3 year old daughter was in her carseat. At the time of the accident I was 9 months pregnaut and had to go to the hospital to make sure baby was ok, everything is ok and gave birth to child 7 days later and he was healthy. My 3 year old was terrified at time of accident. My husband has not been to the doctor, but complains of back and neck pain. The vehicle we were in has minor bumper damage. They were sited for the accident. The problem with this is we both have the same insurance company. The insurance company has offered to pay for doctor bill if our insurance doesn't cover it all, repair of bumper on vehicle, and $500 for compensation. My question is, "the insurance company, are they getting off cheap or is this a reasonable settlement"?

Pretend the other driver had a different insurance company.

Thats the way to look at this.Your personal medical coverage is not responsible. The car ins is responsible for the bills.Your husband is foolish for not having all of you placed in the hospital for observation following an accident.Your husband may be the only one to end up sorry for not seeing a doctor. Only you can decide if the offer is fair. But it never hurts to talk to an attorney as they love seeing accident victems and will usually talk for free.
