I was hit in NJ ,now live in CT.which state can lawyer be from

What is the name of your state? Connecticut
I was rear ended in an auto accident while living in NJ on Oct. 28,2007 ,but I now live in CT....Do I have to get a lawyer in NJ or can I get one in CT.

You can get a lawyer in CT but he/she will have to be licensed to practice in NJ.

So it would probably be better to somehow work with a laywer in NJ.... Also are there laywers that get paid by a percentage of the settlement so that I dont have to put any money out up front,as I dont have the money to do that.

I'm sure there are plenty of lawyers in CT that also practice in NJ since they are so close together. Most personal injury lawyers work on contingency.
