To everyone who can help,
I was involved in an accident in Aug. 2000 in California, I know it was neither our faults. I was revesing out of a parking spot and a woman hit me turning the corner of the parking lot. I have a witness who saw what had happened.. The witness stated that the other driver was driving too fast in the parking lot. The problem is that a police report could not be taken at the time because it was on private property. I did not have insurance at the time and now the other party's insurance is telling me to pay $1400 in full or $3400 in monthly payments. Am I obligated to pay this amount? What can I do? I have already paid for my damages. And now I have to pay for hers too? I know I didn't have insurance at the time but being at no fault do I have to pay this amount? Thank you, any response is appreciated.
