I sideswiped a van and have no insurance

What is the name of your state? CALIFORNIA

I was driving down a two way street and began to make a left hand turn. I thought the vehicle coming at me had a stop sign, so I started to make the turn because they were stopped. As I made the turn, I saw the vehicle dart in front of me, and my front left bumper rubbed on his left side door. There is no damage to his vehicle, just basically paint from my bumper on his door (which could very easily be rubbed out).

I told the driver I would be more than willing to pay out of pocket, but he still requested my insurance information. Catch is I gave him an insurance card from a company that I no longer am insured with. I woke up this morning to find a hostile message on my phone from him saying he needs the proper insurance info. I do not have any insurance, and do not want to tell him until I can figure out what I am going to do. I want to know what will happen. I understand the civil charges that can be placed for the damages to his vehicle, but what about criminal? I do not have the extra money for court, and am already getting wages garnished because of another incident.
Thanks ahead for any info

Sounds like you better make REAL good friends with an attorney. You are likely going to need him when you are sued (civil) for the damages.... then also get a ticket for no insurance.

Then you clearly need to GET insurance if you intend to continue driving.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

I never drive my vehicle.. It was an emergency and had to get my girlfriend to the hospital. Think I need to get an attorney, even though the damages would cost no more than $150? (I work at a body shop) Its all cosmetic, that just needs buffing
