If my car is not insured automatically it is my fault???

What is the name of your state?

Massachuttets.

I was not insured during the accident on Dec 13 , 2004. On four lane traffic, two going north and two going south. If was an intersection I was going left has second priority if some one is going right turn. But I was a four lane and I was taking left turn , blinking left looking traffic left and right merge to left toward north, I did not see my opposit side any trafic stopped on stop sign singling to go right. As the road was safe and clear to merged , I merged to left and stayed in the middle lane rather overlapping left side ( because I waived my hands to thanks the going opposit direction drive as I was on my lene) As I waive him I heard a screetch noise and at the same time I was hit on my front right nose, just little head light was broken, no one insured. I stopped on the spot wherw I got hit, the lady who hit me go hit stopped her car just infront of me about 20 fit way. Her car left fender had little dent that can be fixed by dent fixer. We moved the vehicle to the safe area and to exchanged our papers.

She said to me what are you doing you should not be going on left before me. I said I did not see you on the other side blinking left and I am on left lane which has two lane, you should stay in right and I should use left to go to the same dirrection. She said it is single lane, we came to the spot and showed her it is two lane road and you should be staying on your right lane. Then she realised it was two lane road. She said sorry to me but it was not enough to relieved me because I did not call the police.

No police called. she said sorry to me and I thought she went to her doctors appointment.
Later I got a letter from Sobrogration office of Commerce Insurance and they are harrasing to collect the damage of 1100-1200. The point is"" If I do not have insurance the law of Mass will make guilty and pay for the damage". IS IT TRUE? I MADE A MISTAKE NOT CALLING POLICE BUT I DID NOT HIT HER.
IS THERE ANY REMEDY AND GET RID OF THE PHONE CALL AND THE DAMAGE COST.???? Every day I am getting call from Sobrogation office of Commerce insurance.
Long time ago I was passanger side and someone drivng got hit the car and we got same harrasing letter, later investgator came and observed the accident area and cleard all.

Should not I getting their Investigator to question the lady who hit me and go to the accident place and figure out who's mistake is??

I REALLY THANKFUL FOR YOUR HELP, I do not want to go up my insurance cost and should be paying without fault as the sobrogation office said it will be my fault under Mass law if I had driven a car without insurance. Is it true?? How can I get clean on this mess?

NOW I GOT INSURANCE SO I CAN DRIVE MASSACHUTTES FREELY, AS I AM RESIDING IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND DRIVING SOMETIMES.

HELP ME , HELP ME.

Being English as SECOND language I am having more hard time and may be the reason they are pushing me hard to collect the damage and proving my fault because I did not have insurance.

Why didn't you have insurance? It's MA state law.
