I'm scared!!

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Rhode Island

My husband was hit by an automobile while on his motorcycle last Fri. as he was going to work at 5:00 a.m. He was at an intersection with a green light going straight, she took a left hand turn through a yellow, caution light. She had no damage, however, to her car. My husband had severe damage to his left leg and completely damaged his bike. He fractured/broke almost every bone in his leg, lost a good part of his heel and archilles tendon, will be in the hosp. for a month or more, followed by rehab. and then out of work for a year and will then have to change his career. Needless to say, in a split second our lives have changed.

I do have an attorney but my question is this...(my atty. is married to my cousin, I know...wrong move, never mix family with business)!! He took one look at my husband and said it clearly looked like the maximum personal injury $$$ case, and let me state, this IS NOT about becomming millionaires, however I would like the necessary bills paid and restitution for the changes our lives will be making...that said, however, if she doesn't have enough insurance, we'll be lucky to receive $100,000.00. My medical bills alone will be over that, not to mention rehab and loss of wages, what do families do??
I am so very scared to face the future. We have a 6 yr old little girl and we both have loving families willing to help, but how much can they help?

So, this woman decided to run a light, destroyed a man's leg who was told he will never walk the same again, ride a mtn. bike, ski, snow board, (he's 29), or do any of the outdoor things he used to do, and that's what we get? Does anybody have any answers for us, or is this it??

Thanks for anything you can tell us, I just hate to keep pestering my atty. with the same questions, he keeps telling me not to worry about it, but guess what? I'm worried!

I'm not a lawyer!

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your husband. I don't have any advice other than to go ahead and pester your attorney, that's what you are (will) be paying him for! Ask questions until you clearly understand what you want to know about. Best of luck to both you and your husband!
