What is the name of your state? Florida

A friend of mine fell behind in car payments and the car was repossessed. It was taken to an impound lot. In the car was my wallet! I'm being told that I can't get that wallet. Does anyone know what my rights are and who (other than an attorney) could help me.

I have nothing to do with the car itself. I don't own it, pay for it, or have any financial obligations to it.

Thanks for any advise.

The repo company has a right to take the car, but not your wallet. Otherwise it's the same as if they stole it from you.
