I have a friend in state jail in Texas that had 2 of her fingers amputated while being trained as a butcher. When asked why reattachment was not attempted she was told she had no right to get her fingers reattached because she was an inmate. Can this possibly be true? Does someone lose that kind of right when they are incarcerated. The story gets worse including withholding antibiotics etc. Attempts have been made to find a lawyer to sue the state for this but with no luck so far.
Looking for a few answers and any other help.
Thanks
