Insurance after DUI Question

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I got a DUI 3 years ago. I think I only need to keep an SR22 for 3 years. Should I switch to another insurance company and not mention my DUI? I know if they ever found out, they may drop me, but how often do insurance companies check these things?

They will know immediately, I failed to mention a seat belt ticket and it came up when I applied for a policy.

It's called fraudulant application. It will show up on your Choice Point report (CP is like a credit report except it rates your insurance risk) and it will make getting insurance in the future a real pain in the rear.
