Insurance Claim

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kentucky
My wife has a car that her uncle cosigned for her to purchase the car. He died before she finished paying off the vehicle. The bank cleared the title but some third party individual has a lien on the vehicle and so called holding the title. The other day her car caught on fire and she was not injured but the car was totaled by the insurance company. Now they are asking for the title to the vehicle before they will release the insurance pay off. What can she do to claim the insurance money without the title?

Whoever has the lein on the title has to get paid before the owner gets a penny.

Lawsuits are not about justice. They are about MONEY. If you don't want money, then you shouldn't be thinking about suing. And people post here because they are thinking about suing. Because they want money, no matter how much they don't want to admit that to themselves.

I am still interested in how the RO was able to have a lien placed on the vehicle without the bank calling the loan due in full due to the breach. (ie: allowing a lien to be placed on the vehicle)
