Insurance Claim Denial

What is the name of your state? CA
Are there specific state laws or insurance regulations concerning an insurance companies denial of a claim and their responsibility to fully inform the third party as to why they are denying the claim? I keep getting the old " we will not pay your claim" letters with no real reasoning. The subject of the claim is irrelevant, I just need to know what their legal responsibility is to fully inform me. If they fail to do that, is it an honest assumption that they are wrong and are trying to prevent the claimant from receiving their fair settlement?

If you think the claim denial is wrong, you can file suit against the insured (the person who wronged you) and let a judge decide.

There are rules insurance companies must obey regarding third party claimants, and those rules are contained in the California Code of Regulations. You might also want to contact the Department of Insurance for its assistance in filing a complaint. Of course, you can also sue their insured.
